About the Role

Towerwood Vets is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their small animal team in picturesque North West Leeds, just minutes from Leeds Bradford Airport with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales. You’ll have access to a varied caseload of consults and surgery that can be weighted to your preferences, and there’s genuine flexibility around how you work—whether that’s full-time over 4 or 5 days, part-time, or a flexi rota arrangement.

Weekend cover is shared across the team on a 1:4 rota (Saturday only, 8:30am-6:30pm), and there are no night shifts or out-of-hours duties—a significant advantage for those seeking proper work-life balance. The team actively pursues professional development together, frequently attending conferences as a group to combine CPD with team bonding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver general small animal consulting and surgical care to a varied client base
  • Manage your own caseload with input from the clinical team, tailored to your clinical interests and specialisms
  • Contribute to the weekend rota on a 1:4 basis (Saturday clinics only)
  • Engage with the practice’s quality improvement and infection prevention programmes
  • Support CPD initiatives and consider pursuing relevant certificates
  • Work collaboratively within a team of 3 vets, 8 RVNs, 4 SVNs, and 2 ACAs, overseen by a Clinical Director and Practice Manager HVN

Requirements

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Experience level not specified—all qualified vets encouraged to apply
  • Interest in continuing professional development
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment

Towerwood Vets is a well-equipped small animal practice situated in Cookridge, Leeds, part of the IVC Evidensia group. The practice boasts 5 fully equipped general consult rooms, prep room, separate theatre, separate cat and dog wards, and a dedicated feline waiting area at the main location, with a second branch offering two consult rooms, recovery kennels, prep, and theatre. The team includes a Clinical Director with membership in the Faculty of Homeopathy and a certificate-holding imaging specialist, creating a supportive environment where clinical interests are actively encouraged and pursued.
