Registered Veterinary Nurse – In-Patient Care

About the Role

Veterinary Specialists Scotland is a rapidly expanding, purpose-built referral hospital located in Livingston—perfectly positioned between Edinburgh and Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to join the in-patient care nursing team in a modern facility designed to deliver the highest standards of veterinary care alongside a pleasant working environment.

You’ll work flexible hours on a 1 week on, 2 weeks off rota (7×12-hour shifts), allowing genuine work-life balance. This part-time position offers exposure to a varied and challenging caseload across all ward areas of the hospital, working alongside a dynamic clinical team. The practice places strong emphasis on collaborative working and patient-friendly care, with nursing excellence at the core of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive basic and advanced nursing care across all ward areas
• Monitor patients and formulate individualised nursing care plans
• Support nutrition and assisted feeding techniques
• Deliver post-operative care for surgical patients and recovery support for medical procedures
• Contribute to a culture of excellence in patient, client, colleague, and referring veterinarian care
• Work collaboratively within the referral hospital’s multi-disciplinary team

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Ideally, background experience in referral work (not essential)
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and team collaboration
