About the Role

Veterinary Vision Glasgow is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its newly opened, state-of-the-art referral ophthalmology centre. This is a daytime-only Monday to Friday role with no weekend commitments—a genuine rarity in veterinary nursing. You’ll be working in a brand-new purpose-built facility on Glasgow Road, supporting specialist eye surgery cases referred from across Glasgow, Cumbria, the North East, and Bamber Bridge.

Whether you’re already passionate about ophthalmology or simply keen to develop specialist skills, this role welcomes you. No prior eye experience is necessary; full training and mentorship will be provided by a friendly, professional, and dedicated nursing team. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where high standards of patient care are genuinely valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing support for specialist ophthalmology referral cases across a multi-site service (Glasgow, Bamber Bridge, Penrith, Sunderland)
  • Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care for ocular surgery cases
  • Support the ophthalmology surgical team in a state-of-the-art operating facility
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient welfare and clinical excellence
  • Work within a collaborative referral nursing team environment

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Enthusiasm, commitment, and genuine passion for high standards of patient care
  • Previous ophthalmology experience is not required; training will be provided
