About the Role

Cardiff Newport Road Vets for Pets is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their busy small animal team. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week (shift patterns to be confirmed), based in a purpose-built, fully equipped surgery that enables high standards of clinical care. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, a Practice Manager, and 2 Client Care Advisors—giving you plenty of support and collaborative energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient admissions and discharge procedures
• Anaesthesia monitoring during surgical procedures
• Assisting with surgical procedures and patient recovery
• Working alongside Veterinary Care Assistants and Student Veterinary Nurses to prepare patients and manage theatre turnaround
• Supporting colleagues during holidays and absences
• Delivering excellent customer service as part of the wider practice team

Requirements

• Current RVN registration
• Solid general nursing experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Positive, down-to-earth, and enthusiastic attitude
• Genuine passion for animal welfare
• Strong team player willing to support colleagues
