About the Role

This is your chance to become a Practice Owner within Vets for Pets’ established network of over 440 locally owned small animal veterinary practices. You’ll have complete clinical and operational autonomy, individually shaping your offering for your practice team and the communities you serve. Unlike traditional practice ownership, you’ll benefit from immediate financial support that skips the startup phase, allowing you to focus on building your vision for personal and professional growth from day one.

Based in Hemsworth near Pontefract, this purpose-built practice offers an exceptional foundation. Opened in October 2017 in a converted fire station, the premises feature larger-than-average consultation and treatment rooms and look brand new inside. The location provides excellent transport links to Wakefield, the M1, A1, and M62 motorways, with high visibility and free car parking. You’ll have 24-hour access to the premises, separate cat and dog kennelling areas, and a comprehensive selection of modern veterinary equipment.

The practice has already established a strong local reputation and a capable team in place: two registered veterinary nurses (one as head nurse), a practice manager, and two clinical care assistants. You’ll build on this foundation whilst enjoying true work-life balance with a salary from day one as you develop the practice further.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and set the strategic direction for the practice
• Manage the existing team of RVNs, practice manager, and CCAs, fostering professional development
• Build and shape the practice offering to meet community needs and your professional vision
• Drive business growth and unlock the true value of your expertise
• Maintain clinical standards and ensure excellent patient care across small animal cases
• Develop practice systems and protocols in line with your clinical approach

Requirements

• Veterinary surgeon, registered veterinary nurse, or practice manager with significant experience and ambition to own a practice
• Proven business acumen and the drive to build lasting value
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Clinical credibility and commitment to high standards of patient care
