About the Role

You’ll be joining a thriving small animal practice where registered veterinary nurses are treated as the clinical professionals they are. This full-time role (flexible over 4 or 5 days, with occasional weekend day shifts) offers genuine scope to utilise your nursing skills to their fullest—leading and managing nurse clinics, performing Schedule 3 procedures, and taking on clinical coaching responsibilities. The practice actively encourages and supports CPD and certificate study, ensuring you can develop into the RVN you aspire to be.

Based within the Pets at Home store on Racecourse Retail Park in Aintree, the practice sits at the heart of the local community with excellent facilities, ample parking, and easy access to local amenities. There are no out-of-hours commitments, making this an ideal role for work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage nurse clinics independently
• Perform Schedule 3 procedures within your scope of practice
• Support clinical coaching and mentoring within the team
• Contribute to the full range of veterinary nursing duties across a small animal caseload
• Work collaboratively with 4 veterinary surgeons, 2 VCAs, 1 Head Nurse, and dedicated reception team
• Maintain high standards of animal welfare and client communication

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Genuine interest in animal welfare and veterinary nursing
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good veterinary nursing experience
• Willingness to engage in clinical coaching or experience in this area (advantageous)
• Flexible approach to occasional weekend day shifts

Aintree Vets4Pets is a modern, well-equipped small animal practice located within the Pets at Home store on Racecourse Retail Park. The practice is part of the Vets4Pets network and operates as an inclusive, professionally-minded team. With 4 experienced veterinary surgeons, practice owners, a Head Nurse, 2 VCAs, and a dedicated reception team, there’s a high level of qualifications and experience across the clinic. The practice actively supports degree nurses and invests in the professional development of all nursing staff.
