Looking for meaningful part-time work with a genuinely supportive team? Join Vets for Pets Staines and enjoy flexible hours (20-30 per week) with sole charge independence and real work-life balance.

About the Role

This is a part-time veterinary surgeon position offering genuine flexibility—you’ll work Friday and Saturday (set days: 9am–7pm and 9am–5pm respectively) plus one additional weekday to suit your schedule, totalling 20–30 hours per week. You’ll be working sole charge, which means independence and autonomy, but always backed by a close-knit, supportive team who genuinely have your back.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary care for small animal consultations across routine and preventative medicine
  • Manage your own caseload independently during allocated shifts, with support available when needed
  • Utilise the practice’s in-house lab, digital X-ray, dental suite, ultrasound, and other diagnostic equipment
  • Contribute to the friendly, professional culture and support the nursing team (2 RVNs, 1 SVN)
  • Engage with occasional more complex cases that fall within your scope

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon with solid clinical experience
  • Comfortable working sole charge and managing your own caseload independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills—you’ll be joining a close team of seven who genuinely support one another
  • Flexibility and willingness to work the proposed schedule (Friday, Saturday, plus one flexible weekday)

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: up to £65,000 pro rata (based on 20–30 hours per week)
  • Genuine work-life balance with predictable, flexible hours
  • Mental Health First Aider and Clinical Supervisor support in the team
  • Physical & mental health support available
  • First Aid trained colleagues and a culture prioritising wellbeing
  • Modern, well-equipped practice with in-house diagnostics
  • Join a warm, supportive team with over 30 years of combined experience
