About the Role

This is a weekend-only ECC position based at Mill House Veterinary Surgery & Hospital in King’s Lynn, working under the Vets Now banner. Whether you’re looking to gain solid emergency and critical care experience or add weekend shifts to an existing role, this is a genuine opportunity to develop your ECC skills with a supportive team who are genuinely passionate about progression in emergency medicine.

You’ll work a 1:2 Saturday and Sunday rota with flexible shift discussion available: Saturday day shifts run 12pm–7pm, whilst Sunday shifts run 8am–7pm, plus a fair share of bank holidays. The practice is flexible about how many shifts you take on, working with you to find a schedule that suits both your lifestyle and their clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and critical care to small animals presenting out-of-hours on weekends
  • Work collaboratively with the ECC team at Mill House, supporting each other through the weekend rota
  • Utilise advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment including digital x-rays, ultrasound, bronchoscopes, video endoscopes, and intensive care monitoring
  • Deliver comprehensive dental care and procedures using state-of-the-art equipment
  • Support emergency cases with on-site laboratory facilities for rapid blood testing
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and emergency medicine development

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon registered with the RCVS
  • Interest in emergency and critical care medicine
  • Willingness to work within a team-based ECC environment

Mill House Veterinary Surgery & Hospital is an RCVS-accredited small animal facility serving the King’s Lynn area. The practice is equipped with comprehensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities including advanced imaging (digital x-rays, ultrasound, bronchoscopes, video endoscopes), on-site laboratory facilities, state-of-the-art dental suite, and modern intensive care monitoring. It operates as the host practice for Vets Now’s weekend ECC service in the region.
