Registered Veterinary Nurse – Weekend

About the Role

This is a weekend-only position with one of the UK’s leading emergency and critical care providers. You’ll work every other weekend—Saturday 12:00–18:30 and Sunday 08:30–18:30—plus a fair share of bank holidays, making it ideal if you’re seeking additional income, further professional development, or flexibility around other commitments.

Based at Vets Now Swansea, a dedicated out-of-hours emergency clinic, you’ll be part of a highly skilled nursing team delivering urgent care when pet owners need it most. The role offers genuine scope to advance your ECC knowledge and practical skills in a supportive, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice via telephone triage and deliver in-clinic care
• Manage critical care cases: monitor major body systems, track in-patient progress, assess pain levels, and perform wound and dressing care
• Undertake physiotherapy and rehabilitation support for recovering patients
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures independently, with confidence in a sole charge capacity where appropriate
• Maintain high clinical standards and contribute to a culture of excellent patient and client care

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months
• Demonstrable commitment to maintaining clinic standards and animal welfare
• Genuine passion for client care and patient outcomes
• Experience with emergency and critical care caseloads is advantageous but not essential
