Weekend-only role: rotating pattern of two consecutive weekends (Saturday and Sunday 7pm–8:30am) followed by two weeks off. Out-of-hours emergency clinic work.

About the Role

This is a weekend-only position with Vets Now’s emergency clinic in Kirkcaldy, offering a unique opportunity to specialise in Emergency & Critical Care without committing to full-time hours. You’ll work a rotating pattern: two consecutive weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 7pm–8:30am) followed by two weeks off, giving you genuine work-life balance alongside a second income or family commitments.

You’ll be joining a nursing-led team where your expertise in triage, surgery support, anaesthesia, and critical patient monitoring is genuinely valued. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone first aid advice and perform initial assessments in clinic
  • Deliver critical care including monitoring of major body systems, tracking patient trends, identifying acute changes, and managing pain assessment and wound care
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures confidently, including sole charge capability where appropriate
  • Contribute to physiotherapy and rehabilitation care for in-patients
  • Maintain high clinical standards and support the wider nursing team in emergency environments

Requirements

  • RCVS registration for a minimum of six months
  • Genuine motivation to maintain high clinic standards
  • Commitment to excellent client and patient care
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous but not essential
