About the Role

This is a weekend-only opportunity perfect for RVNs seeking additional income or better work-life balance. You’ll work every other Sunday (08:00–18:00) plus a fair share of bank holidays, allowing you to build specialist emergency and critical care experience whilst maintaining flexibility around other commitments or family life.

Vets Now Worcester is part of the UK’s largest emergency pet care provider, operating over 60 out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. The nursing team here sits at the heart of clinical treatment—from triage and surgery support to anaesthesia and inpatient care. You’ll be working alongside an experienced emergency team in a high-energy environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • First aid assessment and advice—both telephone and in-clinic
  • Critical care management: monitoring major body systems, identifying patient changes quickly, performing physiotherapy, pain assessment, and wound care
  • Diagnostic procedures: confident to perform basic diagnostics independently in a sole charge capacity
  • Supporting surgery and anaesthesia teams
  • Inpatient monitoring and trend identification

Requirements

  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months (required)
  • Experience with emergency and critical care caseload is advantageous (but not essential)
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards
  • Passionate about animal welfare and client communication
