Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist – FTC

About the Role

This is a part-time fixed-term contract position working 20 hours per week across Victoria Veterinary Practice’s two South Wales locations in Dowlais and Aberdare. You’ll work two 10-hour shifts between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, supporting both sites. The role sits at the heart of the practice—you’ll be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, managing the flow of the reception area in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. With easy access to Cardiff and proximity to the beautiful Brecon Beacons, you’ll be part of a community-minded practice that genuinely values its team.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive first impression
• Manage incoming phone calls, appointment bookings, and client inquiries with efficiency and care
• Process insurance claims and pet health club memberships accurately
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate client records
• Support the veterinary team with administrative tasks away from the front desk
• Remain calm, composed, and compassionate when handling high-pressure or emotionally charged situations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
