Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

Village Vet is seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their friendly Cambridge team. Based primarily at the Whittlesford and Royston practices, you’ll work a predictable 42-hour, 4-day week with one routine daytime weekend in four and Fridays off after weekend cover. This is a permanent full-time position offering stable, manageable hours.

You’ll be delivering high-standard clinical care across consults and operational days, building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues in a supportive team environment. The role involves some flexibility to cover other Village Vet sites when needed, but within a structured rota system designed around work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical and patient care across the Whittlesford and Royston practices
• Conduct consultations and operational procedures with attention to clinical excellence
• Deliver exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships
• Contribute actively within your immediate team and collaborate across the wider hospital teams
• Support team development and work collaboratively towards shared clinical goals
• Cover other Village Vet sites as required within the established rota system

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years post-qualification veterinary experience
• Full UK veterinary registration (RCVS)
• Passion for delivering high-standard clinical care
• Strong client communication and relationship-building skills
• Team-focused approach with commitment to collaborative practice
