About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity for a confident small animal veterinary surgeon to join a well-established practice in the heart of Winchmore Hill. Working 42 hours over 4 days with a 1 in 4 Saturday and 1 in 8 Sunday rota (plus one bank holiday per year), you’ll be part of a supportive 5-vet team delivering high-quality first-opinion care to a loyal, well-established client base.

The practice is ideally situated in a vibrant local community surrounded by independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, with excellent public transport links. Consultations are by appointment only with a minimum of 15 minutes per patient, giving you the time to deliver thorough, contextualised care without the pressure of back-to-back scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine small animal consultations and clinical examinations
  • Performing routine surgical procedures with support from an experienced veterinary team
  • Utilising on-site diagnostic facilities (digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory) to work up cases to a high standard
  • Contributing to a collaborative, supportive team culture with five veterinary colleagues
  • Engaging with clients to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Supporting the practice’s nurse training initiatives as a recognised training practice

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a UK small animal practice
  • Confident with routine surgery and consultations
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and client-care skills
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, contextualised patient care
  • Full UK veterinary registration (RCVS)
