Wallace Vets

1-in-8 weekend rota. Dedicated night team provides 24/7 in-house emergency cover; RVNs do not have on-call duties outside scheduled rota shifts.
Wallace Vets is seeking an RVN who wants genuine clinical autonomy and professional recognition. This role offers the full scope of Schedule 3 procedures—minor surgeries, IV placement, anaesthesia management, and leading nurse-led clinics including second vaccinations, diabetic management, and post-operative checks. You’ll be involved in inpatient care, diagnostics, radiography, and dental procedures, with active encouragement to mentor students, contribute to protocol development, and pursue further training in specialisms like ECC or surgical nursing.
The practice prioritises work-life balance with flexible contracts (three-day, four-day, or five-day weeks) and a manageable 1-in-8 weekend rota. A dedicated night team provides 24/7 in-house emergency cover, so you won’t face on-call duties disrupting your sleep. You’ll join a supportive, inclusive team culture that values clinical freedom and professional development.
Wallace Vets is a progressive small animal practice firmly committed to recognising RVNs as essential clinical professionals rather than support staff. The practice actively empowers nurses to utilise their full skill set, grow professionally, and feel genuinely valued within a collaborative team environment.
The practice operates with a dedicated night team providing 24/7 in-house emergency and critical care cover, allowing daytime nursing staff to maintain healthy work-life balance without call-out responsibilities. Wallace Vets fosters a positive, inclusive culture with emphasis on clinical freedom, flexibility, and continuous professional development opportunities.
