About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of an established nursing team across four small animal practices in the Medway Towns area. You’ll be joining a well-resourced clinical environment with exposure to diverse cases and the full scope of nursing practice. The role includes weekday shifts (8:00am–6:45pm) plus 1 in 4 Saturdays, with no out-of-hours requirements—Vets Now handles all emergency cover.

You’ll have the chance to cross-cover between branches, with some solo nursing shifts at weekends and occasional weekdays depending on the rota. This suits nurses with a keen interest in theatre work or those eager to develop their clinical skills further.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of anaesthesia support, radiography, and inpatient care across the group’s four sites
  • Active participation in surgical procedures including orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery
  • Conducting nurse consultations and developing your consultation skills
  • Undertaking Schedule 3 procedures with encouragement and support
  • Working alongside visiting specialists (orthopaedics, cardiology) to build advanced knowledge
  • Contributing to a collaborative clinical environment focused on high standards and colleague support

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration with the RCVS
  • Proven experience in small animal nursing practice
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining high clinical standards
