About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Wear Referrals as a Veterinary Dermatologist, working within a thriving multi-disciplinary referral hospital in the North East. You’ll manage referral dermatology cases—both internal referrals from other specialties and external cases from primary care practices—supported by an impressive team of more than 20 EBVS and RCVS Recognised Specialists. The role offers genuine flexibility: whether you’d prefer full-time (4 or 5 days per week) or part-time, flexible arrangements can be discussed to suit your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of referral dermatology patients, including internal referrals from other specialties and external primary care cases
  • Collaborate with 20+ in-house specialists across neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, diagnostic imaging, and cardiology
  • Utilise comprehensive on-site diagnostic facilities including MRI, CT, radiology, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, flexible and rigid endoscopy, video-otoscope, videomicroscopy, and electrodiagnostics
  • Work flexibly within a rota structure that prioritises work-life balance
  • Contribute to the hospital’s clinical research programme and Mars research initiatives
  • Provide highest-quality patient care within a 24-hour staffed ICU environment

Requirements

  • Advanced Practitioner, Residency-trained, or EBVS Diplomate in Dermatology qualification
  • Strong clinical expertise in managing complex dermatology cases
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary specialist team
  • UK veterinary registration (or ability to obtain)
