Senior Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal

About the Role

You’ll step into a senior clinical leadership position at Well House Veterinary Clinic, overseeing surgical caseloads and mentoring a close-knit team across two sites in Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days), though flexible working arrangements are genuinely considered. The practice sits near Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with both clinics just minutes from mainline train stations for easy London and Gatwick access.

You’ll be comfortable with sole charge work and bring surgical experience and general consultation skills. The role offers real scope to shape the clinical direction of the practice alongside a team that prioritises knowledge-sharing and best practice collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical team and deliver exceptional veterinary and client care across both sites
• Manage a high surgical caseload and mentor colleagues to support their professional development
• Help shape the clinical direction and continued success of the practice
• Work autonomously with sole charge responsibilities
• Contribute to the cohesive, knowledge-sharing culture at Well House

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with surgical experience
• Comfortable working sole charge
• Experience in general consultation and surgical procedures
• Leadership capability and mentoring skills (or willingness to develop these)
• Professional communication and client-facing confidence
