About the Role

Wellpets Yeovil is a welcoming small animal practice committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. As a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll work Tuesdays and Thursdays (9:00am–6:00pm) plus one Saturday morning per month (4-hour shift), playing a central role in the day-to-day running of this smaller branch. You’ll build strong relationships with clients and become an integral part of the local community while supporting a collaborative team of veterinary surgeons, nursing assistants, and practice management.

This role combines clinical nursing across theatre, inpatient, and consulting settings with the satisfaction of preventative healthcare delivery. You’ll work alongside an experienced Head RVN from the wider Worle site who provides additional support and mentorship, ensuring you’re never working in isolation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across theatre, inpatient, and consulting room settings
  • Run nurse clinics and provide preventative healthcare advice to clients
  • Support anaesthesia and surgical procedures under veterinary supervision
  • Provide attentive inpatient care, patient monitoring, and post-operative care
  • Assist with client care and occasional reception duties to support the wider team
  • Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and branch staff to maintain clinical standards
  • Contribute to ongoing development of patient care protocols within the practice

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and capacity to manage workload effectively
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous professional improvement
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high standards of care
