About the Role

You’ll join Wellpets West Country as a part-time Veterinary Surgeon, working every Wednesday and Friday plus alternate Saturday mornings (9am–12:30pm), with flexibility to adjust your schedule around your lifestyle. This role is based in picturesque Yeovil, surrounded by countryside villages yet with all the modern facilities you’d expect from a thriving town. With no out-of-hours duties—emergency cover is handled by Vets Now—you’ll enjoy genuine work-life balance while delivering excellent clinical care.

As a sole charge vet, you’ll have remote support available from the practice’s Worle branch whenever you need it, plus a collaborative nursing team working closely with you. You’ll manage a varied caseload mixing consultations and surgery in a well-structured diary designed for calm, efficient working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary care veterinary services to dogs, cats, and small pets
  • Conduct consultations and surgical procedures with quality 1:1 patient time
  • Work as sole charge vet with remote clinical support available from Worle branch
  • Collaborate closely with your nursing team (1 RVN, 1 ANA, and branch manager) to deliver high-standard care
  • Engage with the local community and contribute fresh ideas to practice culture
  • Manage a structured diary to maintain work-life balance and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (degree required)
  • Comfortable and confident working sole charge
  • Strong communicator with collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Keen to contribute positively to practice culture and community
