About the Role

You’ll be joining White Cross Vets in Eccleshill, Bradford, as a Registered Veterinary Nurse working 37.5 hours per week. This is a full-time position with no out-of-hours requirements—just Saturday rota duties covered by time off in lieu. The practice is ideally located with direct bus access, plus plenty of lunch options nearby including a welcoming café and excellent fish and chips.

This is a role where your clinical skills will be valued equally with your wellbeing. The team actively consults staff on every practice decision, organises regular social activities (recent highlights include axe-throwing and team meals), and celebrates each other during structured wellbeing afternoons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for small animal patients including dogs, cats and small pets
  • Assist veterinary surgeons in surgical and medical procedures
  • Perform patient assessments, monitoring and treatment as appropriate to your scope of practice
  • Support the practice’s ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status (currently in progress)
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment alongside 3 veterinary surgeons, 2 other RVNs, 1 student vet nurse and 2 clinical support staff
  • Engage with CPD and professional development opportunities, including dentistry training if interested

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Small animal experience preferred
  • A collaborative approach to teamwork and willingness to support colleagues
  • Professional commitment to high standards of care and practice protocols

About the Practice

White Cross Vets, Eccleshill is a small animal practice serving Bradford with modern facilities including dental x-ray, main x-ray, new ultrasound, in-house laboratory and in-house urine analysis equipment. The team currently comprises 3 veterinary surgeons, 3 RVNs, 1 student vet nurse and 2 clinical support staff, with ongoing professional development—one nurse is working towards Schedule Three registration and has completed dentistry CPD. The practice is progressing towards ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation.

The practice operates with a philosophy of open dialogue and mutual support. Staff describe the culture as genuinely appreciative, with all significant decisions made collaboratively after consulting the team.
