White Cross Vets is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to become part of their enthusiastic Hyde team. Based in the heart of Cheshire, you’ll work in a modern, well-equipped practice that balances clinical excellence with genuine work-life balance—no out-of-hours commitments and flexible hours tailored to suit you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to small animal patients across a range of presentations
  • Provide exceptional client communication and patient experience in a busy first-opinion practice
  • Contribute to the smooth running of a 6-vet team with diverse interests and specialisms
  • Support soft tissue surgery cases; orthopaedic and advanced imaging cases are referred to visiting specialists
  • Work collaboratively across the Hyde, Walkden and Sale clinics to share expertise and support colleagues
  • Help maintain efficient clinic operations across 4 consultation rooms, cat and dog wards, operating theatre, digital and dental x-ray facilities, ultrasound, and endoscope access

About You

  • Registered with the RCVS as a fully qualified veterinary surgeon
  • Committed to providing high-standard clinical care and outstanding client service
  • Eager to develop your skills—the team includes holders of medical, ophthalmology, and anaesthesia certificates, creating a supportive learning environment
  • Team-focused and collaborative; you’ll thrive in a practice that values camaraderie as much as clinical competence
  • Certificate support is desirable but not essential

What We Offer

  • Salary: Up to £65,000 pro-rata depending on experience
  • Work-Life Balance: Part-time role (up to 32 hours per week) with a share of Saturday mornings and time given back in lieu; no out-of-hours commitments
