About the Role

You’ll be joining an exceptional multidisciplinary nursing team at Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service, one of the world’s leading small animal referral hospitals. Rather than specialising in one area, you’ll rotate through multiple disciplines—cardiology, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and primary care—giving you breadth of experience and genuine variety in every working week. This full-time position works an average of 38 hours per week on a rota with shift times between 7am and 9pm, including a manageable 1:6 weekend share.

With over 250 associates and world-class facilities including on-site CT, MRI, and advanced surgical equipment, Willows is known for delivering exceptional CPD and nurturing professional development. You’ll work alongside internationally-renowned specialists and a supportive team that values collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care across all hospital disciplines, rotating through specialisms to develop broad expertise
  • Support specialist teams in cardiology, soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and primary care services
  • Contribute to mentoring and supporting students, interns, residents, and visiting veterinary surgeons
  • Deliver exceptional in-patient care as part of the 24-hour nursing cover team
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team and adapt flexibly to evolving clinical needs

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration (at least 1 year post-registration experience preferred; newly qualified RVNs considered via post-registration programme)
  • Passion for specialist nursing and commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Collaborative mindset with genuine enthusiasm for supporting colleagues and trainees
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple disciplines and adapt to a rota-based schedule
  • Previous referral experience desirable but not essential—comprehensive training provided
  • Newly qualified RVNs may be considered if willing to join the post-registration programme
