About the Role

You’ll join Willows’ Internal Medicine team as a Resident, undertaking a comprehensive clinical training programme designed to prepare you for the ECVIM-CA Diploma examinations. Starting July 2026, this full-time position combines hands-on clinical work with structured learning, supported by a team of five Medicine Specialists, fellow residents, and dedicated nursing staff.

Working within a truly multi-disciplinary referral environment, you’ll manage Internal Medicine cases ranging from gastroenterology and clinical nutrition through to endocrinology, urology, haematology, and feline medicine. With shared out-of-hours duties under specialist supervision, you’ll gain exposure to acute and chronic presentations across the full spectrum of small animal medicine.

Based in Solihull, you’ll have access to world-class facilities that most practices can only dream of: 1.5T MRI, 64-slice CT, advanced endoscopy suite, dedicated ICU, and true multi-disciplinary support for every complex case.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of referral Internal Medicine patients under supervision of five Medicine Specialists
  • Develop diagnostic reasoning through access to extensive imaging (MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy) and endoscopic procedures
  • Participate in shared out-of-hours rota with specialist direction
  • Contribute to clinical rounds and case discussions across the multi-disciplinary team
  • Engage with the Linnaeus network for additional expertise in specialist areas such as radiation oncology
  • Work with dedicated medicine nursing staff in high-dependency and intensive care settings

Requirements

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
  • Graduated from a EAVEE-approved veterinary institution
  • Minimum one year in primary care practice (mandatory)
  • Completion of a rotating internship or equivalent (mandatory)
  • Conversational and medical English fluency
  • Highly motivated with genuine ambition to develop specialist expertise in Internal Medicine
