Registered Veterinary Nurse – Part-time

About the Role

You’ll be joining Wirral Vets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a flexible part-time basis, working across two well-equipped practices in the North West. This varied position gives you a rewarding mix of clinical responsibilities—from anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing to nurse-led consultations and laboratory diagnostics. With a significant charity caseload, you’ll see first-hand the positive impact local charities have within the Wirral community.

The role is structured around two full days per week (8am–6:30pm) plus Saturday mornings (9am–1:30pm), giving you genuine flexibility to balance work with your personal time. You’ll work alongside a close-knit team of five vets, four RVNs, two SVNs, and support staff across both locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Anaesthetic monitoring and all aspects of surgical nursing across both practices
• Conducting nurse consultations and communicating effectively with clients
• Laboratory work using in-house diagnostic equipment
• Supporting and maintaining high standards of patient and client care
• Working collaboratively with the broader nursing and veterinary team at Upton and Seaview practices

Requirements

• Current Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification
• Genuine enthusiasm for varied clinical work and patient care
• Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• Availability for two full days per week plus Saturday mornings

About the Practice

Wirral Vets operates two complementary practices in the North West serving small animal and exotic patients. The purpose-built Upton clinic features four consulting rooms, a fully equipped theatre, dedicated dog and cat wards, and digital X-ray facilities. The smaller Seaview practice is also well equipped and offers everything expected of a busy first-opinion practice.
