Looking for predictable farm work with no on-call chaos? This four-day TB testing role offers structured scheduling, competitive pay, and the chance to work with a respected mixed practice across Cheshire.

About the Role

Wright & Morten’s farm division is seeking an Approved Tuberculin Tester (ATT) to deliver statutory bovine TB testing across their catchment in Macclesfield and the surrounding North West region. This is a part-time, four-day week position (32 hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) that gives you genuine work-life balance without weekend or on-call commitments.

You’ll be working within a mixed practice that operates three distinct divisions—small animal, equine, and farm—so there’s real professional support around you. The farm team values safe cattle handling, accurate APHA-compliant record-keeping, and clear communication with both farming clients and colleagues. If you hold OCQ (AHP) qualification, that’s ideal; if you’re working towards it, the practice will support your development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and follow-up bovine TB tests in strict accordance with APHA guidelines
  • Handle cattle safely and confidently across diverse farm environments and setups
  • Record and submit testing data accurately and promptly
  • Build professional relationships with farming clients and maintain clear communication with the team

Requirements

  • ATT (Approved Tuberculin Tester) qualification
  • OCQ (AHP) qualification preferred but not essential
  • Confidence handling cattle on working farms
  • Strong attention to detail for APHA compliance and record-keeping
  • Professional approach to client and colleague communication

Benefits

  • Salary of £26,257 per annum
  • 6.6 weeks annual leave on FTE basis
  • Additional annual leave allowance on your birthday
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies including maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental, and surrogacy pay
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee wellbeing initiatives and support
  • Non-accidental injury support
  • Learning and development access via IVC Evidensia Academy
  • Pawsome Benefits rewards gateway with 100+ retailer discounts and cashback
  • Pension scheme
  • Discounted staff pet care
