About the Role

Aeron Vets is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their independent practice in the picturesque village of Ciliau Aeron, Ceredigion. Mixed animal vets with a strong small animal focus are also welcome. This full-time or part-time role offers flexible working, with a manageable 1:5 out-of-hours rota shared across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality small animal veterinary care across consulting and surgical cases
• Develop and maintain strong client and patient relationships within the local community
• Contribute clinical expertise and ideas as the practice grows and develops services and facilities
• Work collaboratively with experienced RVNs and support staff
• Participate in the 1:5 out-of-hours rota

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a veterinary surgeon
• Strong clinical interest in small animal medicine and surgery
• Passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary care
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• Professional communication skills with clients and colleagues

About the Practice

Aeron Vets is a long-standing independent mixed veterinary practice based in Ciliau Aeron, in the heart of rural Ceredigion. The practice has a strong local reputation and is dedicated to animal welfare. In May 2024, Richard Cumming and Emily Bowles took over the running of the practice, bringing a shared commitment to maintaining its independent, family-run roots and traditional values.

Both owners are passionate veterinarians with deep connections to the area. Richard grew up locally, and Emily has worked in the region for eight years. Together, they are dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert veterinary care with a personal touch, as part of this close-knit rural community.
