This full-time position offers a four-day working week with shared out-of-hours duties (two weekends and five weeknights per 8-week block on first or second on-call rotation). You'll be joining a well-established, proudly independent mixed practice in Neath that serves family farms within a 15-mile radius alongside a thriving small animal hospital with three branch surgeries nearby.
The practice handles diverse mixed caseload: beef and sheep farms, a couple of dairy operations, and a busy small animal service. You'll have access to an on-site large animal block for lambings, ewe caesareans, and calf in-patients, plus FECPAK machinery for faecal egg counts. The small animal hospital is equipped with digital X-ray, dental suite with digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, and in-house Idexx laboratory.
Afon Veterinary Centre is a long-established independent practice in Neath, South Wales, with a main hospital and three small animal branch surgeries. The team comprises 17 mixed veterinary surgeons at various career stages, from new graduates to experienced practitioners. Several vets have pursued further qualifications in advanced cattle practice, soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. The practice owns and operates its own 24-hour OOH service with on-site nursing care.
