Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position offering you the chance to work in a sole charge capacity—a significant opportunity for a confident, self-motivated nurse ready to take on greater responsibility within a supportive environment. You'll be based at the Osterley branch, working 40 hours per week (08:30–17:30) across five days, with a half-day Saturday shift once every four weeks. That Saturday time is offset by equivalent weekday time off, so your total hours stay at 40 per week. Alcombe Vets is a well-established first-opinion practice operating in vibrant neighbourhoods with a loyal client base and strong community ties. The practice regularly supports charitable initiatives, working with organisations like Cats Protection and other local charities to provide care for pets in need.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care independently while working in sole charge, managing patient treatments and clinical procedures with confidence
• Utilise the practice's comprehensive diagnostic and treatment equipment including digital x-rays, ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities, and multiparameter monitoring
• Provide reception and client-facing care across two spacious consulting rooms at the location
• Support the practice's commitment to animal welfare and charitable partnerships
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Confidence and self-motivation to work independently in a sole charge setting
• Strong clinical knowledge and practical nursing skills in small animal practice
• Professional approach to client communication and patient care
