Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

About the Role

This is a full-time or part-time opportunity at a well-established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice with two sites in Alton and Bordon, located near the stunning South Downs National Park and less than an hour from the coast. You'll have the flexibility to work across 4 or 5 days per week, with Monday to Friday core working hours and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. The practice has recently appointed a new Director of Practice and Clinical Services, bringing fresh energy and supportive, positive leadership to a thriving team.

You'll be based at either the Alton or Bordon site, or split between them, giving you the chance to follow through on your own cases, build lasting relationships with clients, and care for devoted pet owners. The practice strides for excellence in medicine, surgery and diagnostics, with every patient backed by families who trust the team completely.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality small animal veterinary care across two well-equipped practice sites
• Undertake medical and surgical work, including use of advanced diagnostics and surgical facilities
• Build and maintain lasting client relationships through quality patient care
• Contribute to the practice's culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with the visiting orthopaedic surgeon for complex surgical cases
• Access mentoring and peer networks to develop clinical interests and expand capabilities

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a qualified Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
• Commitment to excellent veterinary care and client relationships
• Flexibility and willingness to work across both practice sites if required

About the Practice

Amery Veterinary Group is an independent practice with three surgeries serving the communities around Alton, Bordon and Grayshott, Hampshire. The practice is RCVS-accredited and dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art medicine and compassionate care to all pets, combined with friendly service to their owners. The practice is well-equipped with separate cat and dog wards, advanced ultrasound including cardiac probes, in-house Idexx VetLab for same-day diagnostics, digital radiography, high-speed dental handpieces, digital dental radiography at Bordon, and dedicated surgical theatres. A visiting orthopaedic surgeon is available for complex surgical cases.
