About the Role

Ashcroft Veterinary Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its clinical team on a full-time basis. Located on the main road through Frodsham, a charming market town with excellent transport links and local amenities, the practice is well-equipped and known for its personal approach and high standard of care. You'll work Monday to Friday on 4 x 10-hour days, plus a 1 in 5 Saturday rota (9:00am to 1:00pm), as part of a team that prides itself on friendliness, humour, and mutual support.

This is a varied nursing position where no two days are the same. You will be involved in inpatient care, anaesthesia, theatre support, nurse consultations, pharmacy duties, kit preparation, restocking, and delivering exceptional client communication. You'll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for nursing care across first opinion cases and contributing to clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion small animal caseload
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
• Run nurse consultations and support preventative healthcare initiatives
• Manage pharmacy duties, prepare sterile kits, and restock supplies
• Provide excellent client communication and contribute to the smooth running of the practice
• Work across the practice's separate cat and dog hospital wards and isolation facilities

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Team-orientated and confident in a supportive primary care environment
