Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This Veterinary Receptionist position is a maternity cover opportunity with Beaumont Veterinary Group, working across three practices in Kidlington, Headington and Botley Road. The role is 22.6 hours per week, with shifts Monday to Friday between 12:00pm and 7:00pm, plus a 1 in 3 Saturday rota.

You will be the first point of contact for clients, helping to create a warm, professional welcome while keeping the front of house running smoothly. The practice says this is a chance to build experience in a busy veterinary setting, with training and support from an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and book appointments
• Respond to client queries by phone, email and in person
• Welcome and register new clients
• Process insurance forms
• Handle payments accurately
• Dispense medications as required
• Organise patients on the in-house system
• Liaise with other Beaumont Veterinary Group practices to support patient needs
• Handle debt, belongings and refund related calls where needed
• Provide calm, empathetic support to clients during difficult times

Requirements

• Previous receptionist experience is essential
• Experience in a veterinary setting is an advantage
• Strong customer service skills and confidence working with the public
• Good communication skills and genuine empathy
• Resilience when handling emotional situations
• A positive approach and strong teamwork skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly desirable
• Ability to travel independently across the local area to meet business needs
