About the Role

You’ll step into a varied nursing position at a well-established practice that’s been part of the Bishopbriggs community for years. Working 40 hours per week on a mix of early, mid, and late shifts, plus a manageable 1:4 Saturday rota (9am–1pm with time off in lieu), you’ll be integral to the clinical team delivering high-quality first opinion small animal care. The practice is easily accessible by rail, car, and bus from Glasgow, and benefits from excellent facilities including separate cat and dog wards, a dedicated theatre, ultrasound, radiography, and an in-house dental suite with a satellite branch in Chryston.

You’ll work alongside experienced veterinary surgeons and a collaborative team where your input genuinely matters. This is a 12-month fixed-term position, ideal if you’re looking for a defined commitment in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on nursing support in theatre, assisting veterinary surgeons with surgical procedures
  • Take full responsibility for inpatient care and monitoring
  • Conduct nurse consultations with clients and patients
  • Contribute to clinical standards and patient care protocols within the practice
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of nursing practice
  • Work as a collaborative member of the primary care team across the two-site practice

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Clinical practice experience with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and effective workload management
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous professional improvement

Contract Type

This is a 12-month fixed-term position.
