Ready to lead night emergency care at a brand-new hospital? Join Bramble and Bear's dedicated ECC team with a manageable 7-on, 14-off rota and genuine clinical support from experienced mentors.
Dedicated night vet role. Rota is 7 nights on, 14 nights off, 8 pm to 8 am. Practice also open to weekend-only night rota discussions.
Bramble and Bear are building a dedicated night team for their exciting new Hospital and Rehab Centre, launching autumn 2026. This is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice at a pivotal moment in its growth. Whether you already have ECC experience or bring strong emergency medicine skills and confidence managing critical cases, you'll find a supportive environment that values your development.
The rota is 7 nights on, 14 nights off, from 8 pm to 8 am, with dedicated handover time at shift start and end to ensure continuity with the day team. The practice is also open to discussing a weekend-only night role if that suits you better. You'll be based at a peaceful farm location in the Staffordshire Moorlands, with the new hospital featuring two fully equipped theatres, a dedicated dental suite, advanced imaging (DR X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy), separate cat and dog wards, and an outdoor space for patient recovery and team breaks.
The practice actively encourages pursuing professional development; they'll support and fund certificates if you wish to progress. You'll work with a team of experienced vets (both founders are working towards their ECC certificates), three RVNs, and one SVN, seeing a large and varied caseload daily.
Bramble and Bear was founded by Dr Matt Bayliss MRCVS and Dr Hannah Brooks MRCVS just over three years ago, driven by a shared passion for providing exceptional veterinary care. The practice began as a mobile surgical unit from a vehicle and evolved into a fully equipped mobile surgical unit within three months. In September 2023, they opened their first hub in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands with state-of-the-art equipment and home comforts. Now, they're taking the next major step: converting an on-site cowshed into a dedicated Hospital and Rehab Centre with planning permission approved and construction underway for an autumn 2026 opening.
The new hospital will feature two fully equipped operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, and an advanced imaging suite with DR X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, and endoscopy capabilities. Separate cat and dog wards will be designed according to Fear-Free accreditation principles, creating a calm, stress-free environment. An adjoining Rehab Centre will offer underwater treadmill, hydrotherapy, and dedicated physiotherapy space for post-operative recovery and chronic pain management. The practice sits on a working farm offering a peaceful atmosphere, with a farm shop and café nearby. Once the hospital opens, the team will be on-site 24/7 to deliver free consultations around the clock. The team includes Head RVN Anna (with recent feline nursing certification), three RVNs, one SVN, and new graduates joining in 2024. The practice offers transparent, fixed-cost pricing and free consultations, building strong client relationships. They are an accredited nurse training practice and hold Fear-Free accreditation.
