About the Role
Bramble and Bear is launching an exciting new Hospital and Rehab Centre this autumn, and you'll be at the heart of building their dedicated night veterinary team. This is a dedicated overnight role working 7 nights on, 14 nights off (8 pm to 8 am), with structured handovers at shift start and end to ensure seamless case continuity with the day team. If overnight work doesn't suit full-time, the practice is also open to considering a weekend-only night rota.
Whether you already hold ECC experience or bring strong clinical confidence managing emergency cases with a genuine interest in the field, you'll find the varied caseload and support needed to pursue certificates if that's your goal. The practice is situated on a working farm in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands—a peaceful, scenic setting perfect for walking, cycling, and exploring the great outdoors. Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham are all within an hour's reach, and Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.

About the Practice
Bramble and Bear was founded just over three years ago by Dr Matt Bayliss MRCVS and Dr Hannah Brooks MRCVS, experienced vets driven by a shared passion for exceptional patient care and creating a thriving workplace culture. What began as a mobile surgical clinic evolved into a fully equipped mobile unit within three months, followed by their first hub in the Staffordshire Moorlands in September 2023. The practice is now embarking on its most ambitious chapter: transforming an on-site cowshed into a dedicated Hospital and Rehab Centre, opening this autumn.
The new Hospital will feature two fully equipped theatres, a dedicated dental suite, and an advanced imaging suite (DR X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy), enabling most cases to be treated in-house. Separate Fear-Free accredited cat and dog wards ensure a calm environment, while the adjoining Rehab Centre will offer underwater treadmill, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy services. The practice is transparent with pricing (offering free consultations and fixed-cost surgery/hospitalisation) and employs a skilled team: Head RVN Anna (with feline nursing certificate), 3 RVNs, 1 SVN, and vets Hannah (internal medicine, ECC, cardiology focus), Matt (soft-tissue surgery, teaching background), new graduate Iona, and incoming graduate Grace. They're an accredited nurse training practice and welcome specialist visits from an orthopaedic surgeon.
