About the Role

You’ll be joining Cinque Ports Veterinary Group as a Veterinary Surgeon across their Hawkhurst and Tenterden practices, with optional flexibility to support the Kingsnorth Hospital. This is a full-time or part-time role designed for vets who want to focus on delivering solid, consistent clinical work in a genuinely low-pressure environment. With no out-of-hours on your rota (overnight emergency care is handled by Vets Now at Kingsnorth), you’ll work 40 hours over four days (Monday–Friday, 08:30–18:30) plus one Saturday per month (08:30–16:30), with flexibility around your schedule as long as Mondays and Tuesdays remain fixed.

Hawkhurst and Tenterden are charming, community-focused settings with loyal client bases and a steady, manageable caseload—perfect if you enjoy building relationships and working at a sustainable pace rather than chasing intensity.

  • Deliver routine consultations and surgery across Hawkhurst and Tenterden practices
  • Take sole charge of your clinic, with experienced colleagues always available for support
  • Work flexibly across both branch practices and the Kingsnorth Hospital as needed
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment with regular veterinary meetings to discuss cases and practice decisions
  • Maintain high standards of patient and client care with realistic caseload expectations

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with 2–3 years’ UK small animal experience
  • Confident with routine consultations and standard surgery
  • Comfortable working as sole charge (with support available)
  • Team-focused approach with a commitment to collaborative, supportive working
  • Focus on delivering consistent, high-quality patient and client care

Benefits

  • 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • External CPD fully funded, plus extensive free online Linnaeus CPD programme
  • Career progression opportunities within the group
  • Staff discount schemes
  • Life assurance and enhanced sickness pay
  • Enhanced equal family leave
  • Employer contribution pension scheme
  • E-car salary sacrifice scheme
  • Wellness programme including employee assistance programme, eyecare vouchers, annual flu jab, and cycle-to-work scheme
  • Recruitment referral reward scheme
