Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week across a modern, multi-site small animal practice. You'll work either 4 x 10-hour days or 5 x 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, with a manageable 1-in-6 weekend rota (TOIL given the following week). Cliffe Vets operates one main site and two branch surgeries, all fully equipped for routine operations and nurse-led consultations. Diagnostic imaging is available at the main site. You'll be joining a team of 32 dedicated professionals including veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, student nurses, and client care staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care across clinical and first opinion cases
• Assist veterinary surgeons with operations, diagnostics, and clinical procedures
• Conduct nurse-led consultations, providing patient care advice and follow-up support
• Manage and dispense medications in accordance with practice protocols
• Contribute to clinical standards and ongoing development of patient care practices
• Work collaboratively across clinical and front-of-house functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse (essential)
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Confident, motivated team player with a commitment to high standards of care
