Coastal Vets is recruiting an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly independent team in Snettisham, Norfolk. The practice was named Practice of the Year at the Petplan Veterinary Awards 2025 and is known for its supportive, compassionate culture.
This is a full-time role on a 4-day week, with a set day off, 3 in 14 Saturdays, and no out-of-hours or on-call because OOH is outsourced. Shifts are shared across operating, consult-only and mixed consult and operating duties, with dedicated time for admin, phone calls and breaks. The practice also still provides occasional house visits for long-standing clients, scheduled three afternoons per week and covered voluntarily.
You will be joining a family-oriented 7.5-vet practice that started as an ambulatory service before establishing a permanent base, later adding a consult-only branch in Burnham Market. The team includes vets at different career stages, two imaging certificate holders, a colleague nearing completion of a cardiology certificate, 9 RVNs, 1 SVN and 5 experienced receptionists.
Coastal Vets is an independent practice based in Snettisham, West Norfolk, with a branch surgery in Burnham Market. The practice originally began as an ambulatory service and later developed into a permanent base, including a full rebuild of the main premises in 2017.
The practice is fully equipped with DR digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound with colour flow Doppler, a Tono-Pen and full Idexx in-house lab equipment, including a urinalysis machine. It also works with Hunstanton Sealife Centre and Norfolk’s Seal Rescue, which rehabilitates common and grey seals from Norfolk and surrounding counties.
