Ready for genuine flexibility and a role where your clinical interests are nurtured? Join a supportive equine practice in the West Midlands border area where work-life balance is non-negotiable and you're valued as a team member, not just a vet.
1 in 5 rota (4-day full-time week). Raceourse duty work available if suitably qualified.
You'll work with a varied equine caseload spanning happy hackers, competition horses, and performance animals across the Staffordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire border region. This role offers genuine flexibility: full-time, part-time, compressed weeks, or a tailored arrangement that works for your lifestyle. A 1 in 5 rota means a standard full-time week is four days, giving you genuine time back.
The team includes a sports medicine diplomat and an experienced clinician, so you'll have knowledgeable colleagues to collaborate with whenever you need support. You'll have autonomy in case management while benefiting from a genuinely supportive environment. If you have clinical interests you'd like to develop, the practice actively supports further learning and progression.
Connaught House Veterinary Group is an independent employee ownership trust (EOT) operating without corporate pressures. The team combines sports medicine expertise with broad equine experience, supported by modern facilities including surgical and therapy laser equipment, a dedicated lameness clinic base, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory. As part of XL Vets, the practice accesses additional training and professional development resources.
The group prioritises a happy, supported team culture and believes that great veterinary care starts with team wellbeing. Flexible working is genuinely embedded in how the practice operates, not offered as an afterthought.
