Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Head Registered Veterinary Nurse position is based at Ayres Veterinary Centre in North Shields, within CVS Group. You will be leading and supporting a team of 16, including nine nurses, SVNs and PCAs, while helping the team develop and keeping clinical standards high.

The rota is 40 hours a week, and the practice says different patterns can be discussed. The hospital is purpose built, opened in July 2024, and offers CT alongside 24-hour patient care with overnight vet and nurse provision.

You will be joining a busy first opinion setting with a varied caseload, and access to expert advice through Vet Oracle. The wider CVS network also brings additional support and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the nursing team at Ayres Veterinary Centre in North Shields.
• Help develop a team of 16, including nine nurses, SVNs and PCAs.
• Support the delivery of excellent clinical standards and patient care.
• Contribute to maintaining quality in the practice and supporting a positive team culture.
• Use strong written and verbal communication with colleagues, clients and pet owners.

Requirements

• Head Registered Veterinary Nurse status is required.
• A dedicated approach to patient care and client service is essential.
• Confidence in communication, teamwork and supporting others is expected.
