Medicine Team Leader RVN

About the Role

This Medicine Team Leader RVN position is based at Lumbry Park in Alton, within a multidisciplinary specialist hospital. You'll be working in a fast-paced clinical environment alongside fellow Team Leaders and Head Nurses, with daily contact with specialist medicine nurses and wider hospital teams.

The caseload is varied and includes gastrointestinal endoscopy, rhinoscopy, joint taps and foreign body removals. The role also involves working with 8 clinicians, 3 residents and interns, and supporting a nursing team of over 50 RVNs. If you enjoy a busy setting where no two days are the same, this could be a strong fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the medicine caseload, including endoscopy, rhinoscopy, joint taps and foreign body removals.
• Work alongside 8 clinicians, 3 residents and interns to keep the day running smoothly.
• Take ownership of the medicine room, equipment organisation and SOP upkeep.
• Oversee daily and monthly maintenance of specialist equipment such as gastroscopes, rigid scopes and biopsy equipment.
• Lead and support a team of 4 RVNs through check-ins, 1 to 1s, coaching and day to day guidance.
• Contribute to Team Leader meetings and Clinical Governance meetings.
• Provide training and encouragement for junior colleagues.
• Work with the Oncology team when needed and support the Wards and Anaesthesia teams where required.

Requirements

• Experienced RVN.
• Ready to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on clinically.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced specialist hospital environment.
