About the Role

This is a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse position with PetMedics, covering the Walkden and Salford practices in Manchester. The rota is 40 hours a week, and if you are looking for a different rota, the advert says to get in touch.

You will be joining a varied first opinion setting where nurse consultations are part of the role. The practice describes a friendly, supportive team culture, with case continuity valued and the expectation that you will see cases through from start to finish.

The wider PetMedics group includes a 24 hour hospital, a fully refurbished first opinion practice and a dedicated consulting branch. You will also benefit from clinical support from the certificate-led referral team based in Worsley.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out nurse consultations.
• Work across the Walkden and Salford practices.
• Support patients throughout their care and contribute to case continuity.
• Work alongside veterinary surgeons, Patient Care Assistants and receptionists in a first opinion setting.
• Contribute to a welcoming, team-based approach to patient and client care.

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse status.
• A dedicated approach to patient and client care.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A team-focused attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop through ongoing training.

About the Practice

PetMedics is described as a thriving, multi-site veterinary group with a state of the art 24 hour hospital, a fully refurbished first opinion practice and a dedicated consulting branch. The team includes 37 veterinary surgeons, several of whom are Certificate Holders or working toward certification, alongside certificate-holding RVNs, patient care assistants and receptionists.

The practice says it has excellent clinical facilities, including digital x-ray, ultrasound and an on-site laboratory. It also holds Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status, plus Silver awards for being rabbit friendly and dog friendly.
