About the Role

This permanent Veterinary Surgeon role is based at Springfield Veterinary Centre in Hackenthorpe, Sheffield. It is a full time position of 40 hours across 4 days, with a share in the 1:3 Saturday or Sunday rota. Part time applications can also be considered.

The practice is a friendly, inclusive small animal first opinion site with easy access to the Sheffield Parkway and M1. There are no OOH commitments, thanks to a dedicated out of hours service, and the wider Springfield group provides access to advanced hospital facilities and certificate holders in orthopaedics, surgery, medicine, dentistry and anaesthesia.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as a Veterinary Surgeon within a first opinion small animal practice.
• Take the lead on surgical and medical cases.
• Carry out diagnostic investigations with precision.
• Provide clinical guidance within a team culture that shares best practice.
• Support colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, improvement focused environment.
• Help shape clinical standards while managing a varied caseload.

Requirements

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
• Confident clinical skills.
• Ability to manage surgical and medical cases.
• Comfort carrying out diagnostic investigations.
• A team player who is also comfortable mentoring others.
• Strong client care skills.
