Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This Veterinary Surgeon opportunity is based on site at Active Vetcare Tilehurst in Berkshire, with a first opinion small animal caseload. The role is open to both part time and full time applicants, and the full time rota is 4 or 5 days a week with 1 in 5 Saturdays and no OOH.

The practice is looking for an experienced vet who is confident with primary care, inpatient work, medical investigations and surgery. The advert also highlights a collaborative setting, modern facilities, specialist equipment and support for learning, mentoring and development through CVS.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle primary care consultations and first opinion clinical work

• Manage inpatient care and day to day case progression

• Carry out medical work ups and diagnostic investigations

• Perform routine and emergency surgery

• Contribute to clinical standards and support colleagues where needed

Requirements

• Experienced small animal vet

• Minimum 2 years' experience preferred

• Strong medical knowledge

• Experience in routine and emergency surgery

• Good communication skills

• A passion for excellent care and client service

• Confidence to take the lead on surgical and medical cases

• Interest in developing further and supporting the wider team

About the Practice

Active Vetcare Tilehurst is a small animal first opinion practice in Tilehurst and forms part of the long established Active Vetcare Veterinary Group, which has nine surgeries across Berkshire. A modern practice with a wide range of facilities, specialist equipment and a friendly, collaborative team.
