Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a part-time Veterinary Surgeon position at Tremain Veterinary Centre in Witney, Oxfordshire, with salary up to £60,000 FTE depending on experience. The role is for around 30 hours per week, worked across 3 or 4 days, and includes 1 in 3 Saturday mornings with no OOH.

You will be joining a first opinion small animal practice with a varied medical and surgical caseload. The role offers flexibility, clinical support and the chance to work within a collaborative team environment.

Witney offers the feel of a lively market town on the edge of the Cotswolds, with Oxfordshire countryside nearby and transport links to Oxford, Cheltenham and London.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload within a first opinion small animal practice.
• Work alongside the existing Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs, Student Veterinary Nurse and patient care and support colleagues.
• Contribute to consultations, surgery, diagnostics, preventative healthcare and ongoing treatment.
• Take part in the rota for 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.

Requirements

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
• Confident managing medical and surgical cases.
• A team-focused approach with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

About the Practice

Tremain Veterinary Centre is a long-established small animal practice in Witney, Oxfordshire, and has been caring for pets in the local community since the early 1970s. The practice combines modern diagnostic equipment with a friendly, close-knit team and a personal approach to patient care.

The team includes 5 Veterinary Surgeons, with colleagues holding Certificates in Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging, plus 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, a Student Veterinary Nurse and dedicated Patient Care Assistants and support colleagues. Services include advanced diagnostics, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, nurse clinics, preventative healthcare and emergency support arrangements.
