Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This is a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse role at PetMedics Worsley Hospital in Manchester, working within an established team of six night nurses. The hospital is an RCVS-accredited 24-hour Small Animal Veterinary Hospital and Advanced Clinical Services centre, so the caseload is varied and includes general practice, emergency and referral nursing.

You will be supporting hospitalised and emergency patients through the night in a friendly, welcoming and supportive team. The hospital is described as spacious and forward-thinking, with modern facilities in place to help you build your clinical skills and experience.

The rota is 33 hours a week on a 6 shifts on and 8 off pattern, with 7pm to 6.30am shifts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide night nursing care for hospitalised and emergency patients.
• Work as part of the established night team at PetMedics Worsley.
• Support clinical care across general practice, emergency and referral nursing cases.
• Help maintain a positive, welcoming and supportive team culture during night shifts.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and clients using written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

• Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients and owners.
• Able to support patient care as part of the clinical team.
• Confident written and verbal communicator.
• Willing to learn, develop and grow through ongoing training.

PetMedics Worsley is part of CVS and is described as a large veterinary hospital with a clinical team of 37 veterinary surgeons, 41 nurses, plus PCAs, receptionists, administrative staff and an ambulance team. The hospital has received GOLD Cat Friendly Clinic status and SILVER Rabbit Friendly status.

Its facilities include 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, an intensive care ward, separate cat and dog wards, an exotics ward, an isolation ward, digital X-ray, a CT scanner, several ultrasound scanners, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation and an extensive in-house laboratory.
