Commercial and Trading Analyst

About the Role

Vet Direct, part of CVS Group plc, is recruiting a Commercial & Trading Analyst to support the Purchasing, Customer Care, Accounts and Marketing teams. The role focuses on sales growth, margin improvement and commercial performance across an e-commerce portfolio covering veterinary equipment, consumables, instruments and clothing.

This is a hybrid position, with 3 days on site and 2 days working from home each week. It is suited to a graduate with strong Excel and analytical skills who is looking to build experience in a commercial role.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse sales, margin, profitability and revenue performance to produce commercial insight.
• Prepare regular reports and carry out pricing, competitor and supplier performance analysis.
• Support product launches, category reviews, forecasting and budgeting activity.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues.
• Produce accurate reporting, dashboards and KPI scorecards.
• Monitor category and supplier performance and provide practical recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement through data-led decision-making.

Requirements

• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Commercial experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good organisation and time management skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective negotiation skills and a willingness to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• A team-focused approach and a commitment to meeting responsibilities.
