Senior Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This Senior Veterinary Surgeon position is based at Village in Caterham, Surrey, and is open to both full-time and part-time candidates. It is a first opinion role with a competitive salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience.

You will be taking on a varied caseload that includes primary care OOH consultations, receiving member practice case transfers, inpatient care, medical work ups and surgery. The practice is happy to discuss hours and rota patterns to fit with your availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on surgical and medical cases within a first opinion small animal setting.
• Carry out diagnostic investigations with confidence and precision.
• Manage or lead on different case types as your skills develop.
• Provide support, guidance and mentoring to colleagues across the team.
• Deliver reassuring client care and build trusting relationships with owners.
• Handle primary care OOH consultations and member practice case transfers.
• Contribute to inpatient care, medical work ups and surgery.

Requirements

• You are an experienced vet with 2 to 3 years' experience.
• You have strong clinical autonomy and can handle a varied caseload.
• You have experience in routine and emergency surgery.
• You bring strong medical knowledge.
• You have good communication skills.
• You are keen to develop further confidence in your clinical skills.
• You enjoy supporting and inspiring colleagues.
