Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Old Courts Veterinary Centre in Brigg is recruiting a Veterinary Receptionist on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. You will work part-time on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a 1:5 share in the Saturday rota.

This is a client-facing role at a CVS Veterinary Group practice, where pets are treated as a priority every day. The work is varied, people-focused and well suited to someone who can stay calm, organised and compassionate in a busy veterinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and book appointments
• Respond to queries by phone, email and in person
• Welcome and register new clients at reception
• Process insurance forms
• Dispense medications when required
• Take payments accurately and efficiently
• Offer empathy and professionalism to clients during difficult moments
• Use the in-house system to organise patients
• Liaise with other veterinary practices about patient needs and queries
• Handle calls relating to debts, belongings and refunds

Requirements

• Previous experience as a receptionist or in a demanding, client-focused role is required
• Veterinary reception experience is a bonus
• You should be resilient and able to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills and genuine empathy are essential
• Good customer service skills and experience working with the public are needed
• A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills are important
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems is required
• Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for clinical support roles
