Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This full-time permanent position offers 40 hours across 4 days with a share in the weekend rota, though part-time and flexible arrangements are negotiable. You'll work in Severn Edge Bridgnorth, a purpose-built veterinary hospital in the heart of a charming market town with convenient access to the wider West Midlands. The practice is a 24/7 first-opinion hospital with Gold Standard ISFM and Royal College accreditation, combining a varied small animal caseload with excellent clinical support from certificate holders in ophthalmology and cardiology.

You'll have access to digital and dental x-ray, harmonic laparoscope, endoscope, cardiology scanning equipment, separate cat and dog wards, and in-house labs. The team is highly experienced, development-focused, and committed to collaborative clinical practice where improvement is encouraged and best practice is shared.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on surgical and medical cases with clinical autonomy, carrying out diagnostic investigations with precision
• Manage a varied small animal caseload including orthopaedic surgery cases
• Provide mentorship and guidance to wider team members
• Contribute to shaping clinical standards within the practice
• Participate in the 24/7 rota to maintain round-the-clock patient care
• Support colleagues in a culture where clinicians are empowered to make best decisions

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
• Strong clinical autonomy and experience managing varied caseloads independently
• Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and positive client relationships
• Keen to develop further clinical skills across different case types
• Natural mentor and team player who thrives in collaborative environments
